  1. I know that some riders will cut a length off the spring in the carb just to make the throttle lighter/quicker, this may have been done to your bike, worth checking ou But dont reckon it makes that much difference, its a big 290
  2. If you look at the side on shot you will see a 'plastic frame protecter' where the bottom yoke blows the frame... I was told by Mr Malcolm Rathmell that this will fit on the 2010 frames too... Looks very nice indeed...and I agree they are all strugling to look as good...
  3. Cheers for reminding me about the bar ends... I'm going to fit a pair before I do something similar.
  4. Yes I am worrying about nothing Thanks again guys Trials Central is the place for advice Brilliant...just like the bike.
  5. Okay Guys Thanks for taking the time to respond, this gives me something to go at. Thanks again.
  6. Hi all Some advice would be much appreciated I'm new to this awesome sport, and loving it, I have just purchased a 2010 sherco st250 which mis/back fires often when kick starting... I know of another rider with a 2010 290 and his appears to do the same. Do they all do this? Is this normal/no problem/to be expected? Will it do damage to anything/engine? What should I do? Should I take it back to the dealer? Will he laugh at me being for thick? The bike seems to run well once started which is never a problem, plug looks fine to my eyes, I notice a change in spark plug from 2009 model could this be worth checking? Many thanks for any views on this matter John
  7. Hi Fiver If you are looking for a place to practise legally, you should have a look at Totherick Quarry (KA3 4EH) just off the road between Dunlop and Neilston. This is where the 'Bob McGregor Trials Academy' centre will be based, run by local trials rider Ian Shankie and will provide all levels of riders with somewhere to practise. All planning permmisions are in place for the development of the site and Ian is currently trying to secure funding for further development (parking, toilets, changing, workshop space etc), Ian has a five year plan to make this into a top trials venue capable of hosting a British Championship event, there is going to be a small charge and all monies taken will be used for continued progress. For further information Ian Shankie can be contacted on 07831 681 728 or call Graham Ferguson of Mickey Oates Motorcycles in Glasgow on 0141 332 7374 Hope to see you there someday John
