  1. I have the same front wheel conversion and find its spot on .Nigel Birkett stocks them i bought a set from him recently
  2. Ive got air valves on my 85 mono front forks do you pump them up with air if so what PSI
  3. i have just sorted my ty at last after all these months it was a blocked pilot jet ! it now running realy well im a mazed its still runing after riding rouned a wood for a day with it running so lean but seams to be ok these must be one tough bikes any way thanks for all the good advise over the months .
  4. mine is definate knock once its gets warm i wiped the head of last night there is no play in the big end or small end the piston is quite tight in the bore i carnt get fela guage down past the rings the bore is spot less no marks are sign of wear it all looks pretty good yet it still knocks quite loud it even run nice with plenty of compresion .so could it be fuel, jetting, where i live theres no trials shops are any one with any real knowledge of this type of bike so im at a total loss .so what jetting would any one recomenden!!

Having repacked my middle box ive still got a knock on the engine it seems to knock on the top of the stroke so im totaly baffled as there is no play in the big end or small end so all thats left is the piston to replace even though it looks ok . Ive read where a dt250 or a it250 piston will fit as they are the same as a ty250mono piston but a lot cheaper if so is there a certain year for each piston that will fit any help would be appreciated as im totaly baffaled !!!
  6. Ive now just repacked my middle box and waiting for my mate to weld it up if it stops the clunk ar defination! then i will get a new pro monty one . If not having had the barral and head off and carnt find whats making it clunk i think the ty will end up in the skip.

  8. Having just spoken to birckett motorsports about a knock on my ty250mono it now apears it could be down to a blocked middle box.I wonded how do you go about cutting it open and has anyone done this and the knock and had good results. cheers peter.

Does any one have any advise on main bearings as it got to be that that clanging away as i rode it yesterday for the first time and it clanged all day but ran ok .What i would like to know as in a month time im going on a weeks trials holiday .Do they just get noisey are do they aventually go bang .Also what kind off expense am i looking at too have a engine rebuild and any recomendaions who could carry out the work any advise would be welcome. thanks peter

Hi im new to this forum but wonded if any one has got to the bottom of the pinking rattley engine as the more ive read the more im confused as some say no head gascket some say two are three blocked pipe or poor fuel and to add boost adatives what do i need to do as mine just chaters of idle and on low revs but have had the bike checked out and the guy carnt find anything worn that would coures this .cheers peter

I bought my ty250 mono six months ago and have just got round to using it but have discoved it has a rattle on the engine so a mechanic had a look as it sounds like the piston is hitting the head.But the piston shows no sign of that there is no play in the big are small bearings just a bit of wear and tear so he put on a exta base gasket but it still clunks and rattle . So i wonded if any one has any idears on what it could be also what oil do you put in the gear box ? Thanks
