    Ty250A

Just sorting out the handlebar electrics on my 1974 TY250a restoration, all looks ok except the headlight high/low beam switch is missing - anyone know wher I can get a suitable replacement?
  3. Can anyone recommend where I can get my TY250A engine serviced/checked over - it seemed to run ok before I took it out for re-build but would like someone to give it a service / new points etc before I put it back in the frame. I am located in North Yorkshire England, but happy to travel for the right person.
  4. Hi - just bought and fitted the ribber plug as part of my TY250A restoration and also noted the small ball in the parts book - couldn't figure out its use so have not bothered to install - I don't think I will be using the chain oil filler system so its not an issue.
  5. Many thanks for your replies - with a combination of the trusty Dremel and heat gun the metal seals have eventually come free, the problem now is that the rebate the new seal will sit in is about 15mm deep upto the washer and circlip level - I am thinking of fitting a double seal to make up the differential caused by the metal seal - is this the best solution?
  6. Hi Just in the process of restoring 1974 TY250A and decided to replace the fork seals, having taken off the circlip and washer at top the slider there is a solid flange that covers the seal making it impossible to access for replacement - have tried all methods to remove it but it won't budge and seems to be weldTY250 Fork Seal.pdfTY250 Fork Seal.pdfed in [please see photo] - any guidance will be appreciated, thanks David
  7. I have recently finished restoring a 1978 cota 247, including engine rebuild etc etc. It is now road registered so have taken it out to my local woods for a few test rides, the journey there of about 1 mile on the road is fine, but when I have put it through its paces in the woods and hit the steep upward sections the engine goes into iddling mode which I think is called bogging. When switched off and left for a while it does restart and run ok. I have no idea whAts causing this and its putting me off doing some real trials - any help will be very much appreciated. David
