  1. Hi All, I thought I would share this with you all. I have been looking at various options to repair the stripped threads on my barrel and came across Seager Engineering who were advertising the service for Norton's. They have carried out the repair by machining and installing a bronze insert with a parallel thread. The workmanship is superb and I would highly recommend them.
  2. Thanks a lot for your help woody, I will contact motoplat UK.
  3. Just looking at pictures of forks, looks like mk2's should have double pinch bolts where mine are single which I guess are mk1's like you say woody. Wish i had known before spending hours rubbing and polishing
  4. Thanks woody. Sorry I made s typo, it only has 2 wires. From what I can find no other bike stators fit, is this correct? I have tried calling Steve but can't get through so left a message late last week. Yes I hear your point regarding the mudguards, I have kept the brackets for plastics that came on it. It is a mk2 1975, out of interest what is the difference with forks? Thanks again
  5. Hi, In the final stages of rebuilding my MAR and need some advice on magneto's. It is road registered however it only has the 3 wire ignition only magneto. Previously there was just a battery for the lights mounted on a homemade side panel. I am wanting to keep it original so had to do away with the battery. I have been looking for a magneto/alternator all over for a few weeks now with no success. Can anyone help and point me in the right direction? Pic attached to share Thanks Mark
  6. Hi I'm hoping someone can help me, just started to put my engine back together and have checked the end floats and they are all too big as when I took it apart it had no centre gasket. Can anyone help me with where to obtain new shims for the crank, layshaft, and selector drum? I have looked everywhere and all I can find is assortment boxes that are 10 and 15 thou thick and I could do with some less around 5 thou. Thanks, Mark
  7. Goudrons, just had a look through them links, can't believe I haven't found ossacels.com before, it has everything at reasonable prices, oh well I know for the future! Thanks
  8. Thank for the replies gents, managed to get a full Cush drive from America for not bad money and decided to take the plunge and make a new brake pedal shaft, here it is, The header pipe is in good nic as far as dents but is a little pitted with rust so going to see the chrominance guy next week to see what he can do. Found a company to fit conrod and rebore the barrel and it's due back next week. Currently wet n drying the casings and polishing them, wish I never started now! Thanks again.
  9. Apologies, however i am new to the trials bike world. I have got a 1975 MAR 250, it was my godfathers and he passed away last year so i am rebulding it as he wanted to do. I currently have it stripped down and have sourced most parts i need (InMotion - Great service). Just a few questions, i need the crank rebuilding, is this something that can be done at home (i am an engineer and my dad is a mechanic) or is it a specialist job? If so does anyone have any recommendations of companies to do this work? Also i am still short of a few parts, these being: Cush Drive Nut Exhaust header pipe. (must be in good nick as i am aiming for i high standard finish) Rear brake pedal/shaft If anyone could help on any of the above then i would appreciate it. Thanks
