  1. Thanks. I am going to setup a few logs in my back yard where there is more "room for error" if I mess up. I will first try some logs perpendicular to the bike, add some at an angle and then at an angle with some extra height to add a challenge to it. Progression is the key. I just have to keep reminding myself that.
  2. Thanks. The angle is around 45 degrees so I guess I just need to do it and not worry about it.
  3. I rode to the edge of my property to do some trial riding to break up the monotony of practicing in my back yard and came across a couple of logs at a steep angle to the trail. There isn't enough room on the trail to hit them perpendicular. How do you cross them without kicking the rear end out from under you or stepping down to pivot turn over them?
  4. Hahahaha...Yep! Such great choices we have. A woman that is incompetent, a liar and should be in jail or a man that is...well...the same. Thanks for the contact information. I will send him an email later today.
  5. I am in the USA. Wiseco is the first place that I tired but my contact there said that they have no data on that setup. So, I would have to send in a sample piston and order several pistons (around $1000-$2000) which I can not afford. If I was sure that I could sell the pistons that I don't need that would be an option but, it is a lot of money up front that I just don't have right now.
  6. Thanks! I am going to work on it this weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics or video next week.
  7. I purchased a '92(?) Aprilia Climber 280 (purple tank and yellow fenders) a while back and found out that I need to replace the piston, rings, O-rings, wrist pin bearing and some other parts. I haven't been able to find much. Mike at the Tryals Shop in NY was very helpful but even he gave up trying to find pistons. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, it's going to have to be sold as a parts bike.
  8. I am going to finally layout a course in my backyard. I have some basic obstacles but I am unsure how "tight" to layout a course. I'm one of those people that need to put limits in to keep myself honest so, I'd like to setup reasonable sections. No, "I think that was a tight enough turn", etc. lol. I saw the YouTube videos in Australia but I'd like to see what is done in other areas.
  9. Welcome aboard! I'm new here too. You will find many helpful people here. Their help and information has been priceless to me.
  10. Thanks to everyone for their input. I'll try them out as soon as I can.
  11. I've been riding on and off road for years and always used the clutch as an "off" switch when the bike started to "buck" due to low rpm. I'd slip the clutch or down shift to get around it. However, I've been reading on the forum that I should be able to do full lock turns without touching the clutch at all as the bike will not stall due to all of the flywheel weight. My 2015 Sherco 300 starts to "buck" when I go very slow and I always jump to the conclusion that I need to pull the clutch in and slip it to keep turning. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  12. Ryan Young has been a great help and sent me some stock lever adjusters so, I put them on last night. I have the lever adjusted all the way out and the plunger adjuster all the way in just to get back to the same action as the S3 adjusters. I can not adjust the release point any farther out. I haven't bleed the system nor have I checked out the clutch plates, yet. I did notice that if I put the bike in gear (not running) with the clutch pulled in and push the bike forward in any gear, I can feel the clutches grabbing so much that the motor starts to turn. After about a few inches or so the clutches break free however, if I let the clutch out and try it again, the same thing happens. I've never had this problem with a 4 stroke. Is this normal for a 2 stroke or a trials motor? Is it normal for a 1 year old bike to need clutches? The previous owner was a SR Expert rider.
  13. I'd love a cargo van but I tapped out my account to buy the bike. But, it's in my 3 year plan to get one as soon as the Focus is paid off.
  14. That's what I was looking for!! I misspelled his name. Thanks!
  15. Yes that's him. Great guy. He was very helpful.
  16. Hahahaha...I'd love to but I just bought the Focus less than a year ago. My plan is to by a cargo van / Transit in 2-3 years.
  17. Thanks!! I'd love to but I still need to figure out how to transport the bike with my Ford Focus Hatchback. I won't have anything in time to ride but I just might drive up and watch. I'll check the site for information.
  18. Lockie28 - Thanks for the reply. I found a Jim Sheil on YouTube but his page is empty. Is there another way to find them?
  19. Sirdabalot - Thanks for the reply. The fluid is good and the level is good. I saw the previous owner race the bike the day I bought it. His fingers must be smaller than mine.
  20. I need help adjusting the hydraulic clutch on my 2015 Sherco 300 ST. I've had many bikes but this is my first trials bike and my first with a hydraulic clutch. The release point is very close to the bar and I have to squeeze into my fingers to disengage the clutch. It is making riding difficult. I've turned both adjusters all the way in and out with no change. I have a picture of my lever but I'm unsure of how to attach it using my phone. Any help would be great.
  21. Hi everyone. I purchased a 1990 something Aprilia 280 Climber a couple of years ago. Before I could ride it, I found out that the piston and cylinder were damaged due to sever detonation. I've spent the last couple of years trying to find the parts to fix it but I finally have up and looked for a new ride. I went to the Nationals in Sequatchie, TN to watch my first trials event live. I meet some wonderful people that helped me better understand the event and to find a bike. A Sherco mechanic, Brad, found a 2015 Sherco 300 for an amazing price that I just couldn't pass up. I can't say enough about all of the help Ryan Young and his employees have given me. I'm a loyal Sherco and RYP for life now.
