  1. Haha you've really gone to some effort here but great info that is very useful! The bikes ran ok today but still not getting ridden hard enough! I will be using the 710 from next weekend as it makes total sense about the flash point and all the advice and help is pointing to wrong oil choice for these bikes. thanks for the help. rich
  2. I was talking to guys at the bike shop and they said no difference between the 800 and the 710. Reason I stuck with it as I didn't want to buy more oil. He didn't mention anything about the flesh point between the two. So this is interesting as I noticed my youngest daughter who is 5 was still only putting around and her bike was way more oily at the tip then the other two who were riding a lot harder! Pulled the plugs and all looked ok but will see how we go tomorrow up at the Trials park. A bit of trial and error with these bikes I think. Thanks for the help all the advice is much appreciated
  3. Thanks for that! I have stepped up to 60:1 using Motul 800 and had the kids really hang off the throttle today. No issues other than a lot of oil at the exhaust tip on all three bikes!
  4. Thanks for that. I would say the putting around is certainly an issue as my kids are 9, 7 and 5 plus only riding for a year so full throttle is really visited! Its s good point you made about the temperature! I pulled the exhaust of last night (repacking) and so much oil had accumulated in the low point on the pipe. Great advice thanks!
  5. It's all pointing towards my choice of oil and mixture I think! Good advice thanks!!
  6. Will give the 710 a try this weekend at 80:1, kids are riding very easy at the moment with minimal wide open throttle!! Thanks for that
  7. Hi All, im running Motul 800 in the pre mix for my kids Sherco 50's. What would people recommend for the mix ratio? I'm currently at 50:1 and finding it really rich.... Rich S
  8. Turns out it was a damaged plug. All the cleaning in the world wouldn't have got it going! Slight crack on the tip of the plug, never seen anything like it!
  9. Thanks for that, I'm going to get it looked at as I don't have the tools/skill to check that out. Hopefully parts are easy to find!
  10. Hi All, hoping someone can help me out with this one. My sons Sherco 50 2005 model won't start. At a trail on th e weekend and half way through a section it spluttered and gave out! Things I know: the carby has been stripped and rebuilt and tested on another Sherco 50 and is working fine. I'm getting spark and fuel and compression is good from what I can feel when it's kicked. Any suggestions or anyone had a similar issue? Rich
  11. Thanks for that, I had a look at the parts catalogue and could see that little tap. That's what got me thinking why isn't there one on the 2005 model. Cheers mate!!!
  12. Hi All, i have just bought my kids three Sherco 0.5 a 2003, 2004 and 2005 model. I am just looking for as much info on them as possible. in particular around the gearbox. The 03, and 04 model have a breather hose attached to the carter vale tap. The 05 model has a sealed (large nut) case with no carter valve or hose. Should this be like the 03 and 04 model? Any help would be greatly appreciated, along with any tips or ticks for these bike. Cheers Rich
