All USA NATC National Riders: There is a week left to send back your rider survey. If you have not filled it out, now is the time to do so and send it back. I sent out 200, received back 76. Next year riders will be able to fill out the survey on line immediately after the event, while it is still fresh in your mind. Thanks in advance Jim Watson

Martin: I think that would be a great idea, I spend way to many hours sending it out and tallying the results. All we need is someone smart enough to put it on line. Some way so the rider is the only one that can in-put his answers. I will try to make it happen. Jim.

The survey is for all the riders that rode any USA National in 2010. If you rode a National you could give your opinion on observers, loop, difficulty of sections, ect. All the riders should have received their survey in the mail a couple of weeks ago. I am just trying to get riders to return the survey. Jim

We get old because we stop riding!

Johnnyb: The Importer's & Manufacturer's statement of origin lists it as a 1980 320cc TL. I bought it on may 16, 1980 for $2,300. I also got my 83 Jumbo back in trade as a basket case. One of these days I plan to get them both running. Jim w.

I have #19, I am the original owner. (sold and bought back 10 yrs later not running.) Wanting to fix it up when I have the time. Jim W.

Everyone: I have received 70 out of 234 Surveys that I sent out. If you have not sent it back, Please fill it out and send it back in stamped envelope. Tell the NATC about each National that you rode. Even if you only rode 1 event, please send it back. We want your comments. Thanks Jim Watson.

Everyone: The Rider Poll for the 1006 Nationals has been sent out. It would be great if everyone that rode a National event would finish the poll and send it back with your comments. This helps the NATC improve the series. Thanks Jim Watson Rider Poll Secretary.
-
US National Riders: I have extended the deadline till Oct. 7 on the return of the Poll. It would be nice to get more back than last years 35%. There is still time to get it sent. Jim Watson NATC Rider Poll.
-
I sent out 237 forms the 1st of sept. the list came from the NATC Entry Sec. If you rode any events in 2005 you should have received a rider poll. Jim Watson.
-
U.S. National Riders: You still have time to fill out and send back the 2005 Rider poll. 1997 was last time we had a 50% turn out, 2004 we had a poor 35% return. I have received 74 forms returned so far. (about 31%) Even if you rode only a few Nationals your feed back is wanted, take a few minutes and fill it out, and of cource mail it. Comments will be read by the Delegates at the NATC Meeting. Thank You Jim Watson NATC Rider Poll.
ps. I want to apoligise to the Canadian riders for not putting the right postage on the S.A.S.E. ( I was at the post office mailing them when I realized it would not work) I will do something different next year.

Alan: Yes the NATC follows the FIM rules, with a few exceptions, one that comes to mind is NATC gives 10 points for a blank space (missed section) on a score card, FIM it is 20 points.
I would call that a 2, because of the way the rule reads.
I may be getting to old but when I started riding back in the 70's What is called no-stop now. The rule was the same, If you could maintain forward motion with a dead engine you could push out of the section and it was not a 5. ( the bikes did not run as well as the modern bikes do now, and they would die more frequently.) At least that is what I remember. But I am getting older. Jim Watson
-
Alan: The words were added because the NATC/AMA follows the world Trials rules, and that is how they are worded. You might need to ask the FIM to change their rule on a dead engine. Jim Watson
