  1. Hello folks, Thanks so much for all the information so far. Thought I'd post a photo of the TY125; here it is just back from a blast in the field this afternoon. It's starting happily on the first kick and running like a good 'un! Just one thing that's puzzling me now - it has two peculiar tubular brackets that have been welded onto the frame just above the off-side rear tyre. It looks like they were designed to be bolted through - they're not threaded internally. Might someone at some point have decided to double the fun for their kids and attach a little sidecar of some sort to the bike? It's the only reason I can come up with for them being there! Here's a pic of the brackets: Does anyone out there have an idea as to what these are for? All suggestions welcome... Thanks guys - I look forward to your replies, Eddie.
  2. Hello again, I've been asking around the local trials lads and it does seem that most TY175 bikes here in England (well, here in Yorkshire, anyway!) do start with the 525 prefix. Scott - it must have been a bit of a disappointment if you thought you were buying a 175 to find out that it had the 125 barrel fitted. I actually wanted a TY125 as it's for my young son and I didn't want anything too powerful - I would have gone for a TY80 but he's tall for his age and I thought he'd outgrow the 80 much too quickly. I didn't know when I bought the bike whether it was the TY175 or the TY125 as they look identical and (as you know to your cost!) most parts are completely interchangeable. I was chuffed to discover it is in fact the TY125. They seem to have been a lot more popular elsewhere in Europe than they ever were in England, so finding it was the genuine 125 was a bit of a surprise. I'd love to hear from anyone else who has a TY125; especially anyone who rode one as a kid, or who has a child who competes on one. What are your experiences of the bike - any sensible mods to make etc. Thanks! Eddie.
  3. Thanks very much indeed, Spinner! I don't suppose your magic book tells you how many of the models beginning with '13E' were manufactured? When I got the bike I wasn't sure if it was a TY125 or TY175 - I thought it was more likely to be a TY175 as they seem to be a lot more common here in England, but have to admit I'm actually rather pleased it's turned out to be the TY125 as it's a first trials bike for my young son. I've had it in bits this evening and the bore size measures correctly for the 125 - altogether it seems to be a nice little bike in pretty much original condition. Any more info. on this model greatly appreciated, Cheers, Eddie.
  4. Hi folks, Have just bought what I think is a TY125; frame/engine no. is 13E 000274. Can anyone tell me what year this makes the bike, and how many of this model were produced etc. Thanks guys - any info. appreciated, Eddie.
