  1. I hear you. It's very much not important, so if the risk is high, it's off my list of stuff to do. The design came from my son... he claimed to have designed it, but I'll ask. Looking at it now with a more critical eye, I see several errors and issues, so probably best to junk it and start over. Cheers... Paul
  2. This should work with a high impedance input from PIN22. I'll build it in the coming days and see if it is a viable solution. Cheers... Paul
  3. Excellent! Thank you konrad. OK, I can drive a suitable transistor with that to turn on the "spare" warning light on the OE dashboard. Am I correct to assume the 5V is relative to the ECU ground on PIN10? It seems almost as if the ECU manufacturer didn't finish the job, or tried to save a bit of cost by removing the internal MIL lamp driver. Thanks again. Cheers... Paul
  4. Hello people, I'm tidying up a few wiring issues inherited from previous owners and I've hit an issue without an obvious solution. Can anyone tell me what the MIL wire from PIN22 on the ECU is supposed to do? It's currently connected in a very nonsensical way and I'd like to understand how it should be connected. Does anyone have specific knowledge? I've a loom with the six pin diagnostics connector and the easystart system if it helps. Failing that, does anyone know what happens to pin 22 in the cases of a fault and no fault? Thanks in advance. Cheers... Paul
  5. The Canada-France relationship is still intact, despite the attempts of the orange guy. Please hook me up as I regularly move things along this route. It may help Norm's economy a little... Thanks. Cheers... Paul
  6. You are lucky to have such a friend lemur, and although buying new parts is a potential solution, new OSSA specific parts simply cannot be found anywhere that I've searched to date. If you have a source, please share. On the flip-side, you live in the USA and your political leader has pretty much forced isolation upon you. Not my business of course, but that's obviously going to affect how you find your solutions. Fortunately, I don't have to deal with that, and the rest of the world is a big place... which has yet to provide what I need! Some patience and further enquiries needed, methinks. Thanks for your input. Cheers... Paul
  7. If only such animals existed over in Europe. If they did, I'd probably have started with the TR and looked for an Explorer kit of parts. Not a bad suggestion, but sadly, very unlikely to happen. Cheers... Paul
  8. Nope, sorry but you are incorrect. The Explorer has Marzocchi forks with steel stanchions, the TR aluminium; the rear shock of the Explorer is an Ollé and the TR has an Öhlins. Cheers... Paul
  9. Thanks for your response lemur. I live in France, but I'm a Brit ex-pat. I'm not sure I understand your comments. Why wouldn't you shop for used parts internationally and why wouldn't you buy used suspension parts? I've a long history of buying new and used stuff from all over the world, so I don't have an issue there. Why do you? Having parts in hand, even if they are worn or damaged is better than not having anything. Worn can be rebuilt and broken can be repaired... Thanks anyway. Cheers... Paul
  10. Hello, I'm a noob to the forum, having just bought an Explorer. It needs some work, nothing dramatic, just fork seals and wheel bearings... oh, and a cylinder head to replace the cracked original... all which are in-hand. I've not ridden it much yet, but already it's a bit obvious the suspension lacks refinement. What I'd really like to do is replace everything with the TR280i kit, but parts seem almost as elusive as rocking-horse poop. Is anyone breaking a TR or have a shock and forks they're willing to part with? Thanks in advance. Cheers... Paul
