  1. Rescued a dumped JCM in poor condition and I thought I'd have a go at restoring it as in the main it's all there. Can't seem to find a lot of info on it though and my first problem is where will I get a flywheel puller for it? Thought my TY one would fit but it's a different thread. Any info on bike much appreciated. Cheers! Previous rescued & restored bikes to a useable condition and current projects.... TYZ.... Yamaha TY125 & TY250 (Pinky).... Suzuki Beamish RL250 (in pieces at the mo).... JCM (to be stripped)...

  5. Emailed Jon and reply is as follows (in case anybody else needs same info!)........"The NGK BPR5ES is normal for the Pro but I run a BPR5EIX in mine. It's a much better plug and worth the added expense. Set the gap at .6mm (.024"). The previous owner probably did not check the gap before installing the plug. Assuming you're near sea level, the jetting should be in the neighborhood of: Main-107 Pilot-S36 or better, S38 Needle-D48 with clip on 2nd groove from top Fuel screw- start at 3.5 turns out Check float height, float should parallel with sealing surface on carb body The Dellorto flatslide was only used on the 2003 Pro. Set your fuel screw each time you ride to get the maximum response. Blip the throttle open and closed quickly to check response and open/close fuel screw to give the best pickup response."
  6. Manual for the Txt Pro 2004 gives the spark plug gap at 0.6.Is the Txt Pro 2003 the same? Checked gap on the old plug which is 0.8 so could someone tell me the correct size? Also how many turns out for the pilot screw on the carb? Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the help, much appreciated! Next question ......Manual for the Txt Pro 2004 gives the spark plug gap at 0.6.Is the Txt Pro 2003 the same? Checked gap on the old plug which is 0.8 so could someone tellme the correct size? Also how many turns out for the pilot screw on the carb? Thanks again.
  8. Took me a while but bike nearly ready for hill! Couple of questions! Is it better to use ATF for the gear oil? Does coolant mean just water or is there a mix to use? Thanks again!
  9. Thanks for reply's folks, much appreciated.Have decided to totally strip bike and rebuild! Next question....Radiator appears to be leaking and I was wondering if there is something I can add (Radweld or something) to the coolant to seal it and failing that where would I get a new radiator from? Thanks again. John.
  10. Son has just bought himself a TXT Pro 2003 and no doubt I'll be the one maintaining it so first question is what is the petrol/oil mix? I have a TY125 & TY250 Pinky so this is the first water cooled bike I'll have worked on.Prob the first of many questions so thanks in advance.
