    Thanks for your reply max. I haven't had time to take the flywheel off yet but why would the generator send enough current to turn the fan but nothing to the plug? Apologies if i am being dim but electrics are not my storng point!

    04 Sherco 250 I was riding a club trial today doing quite well for once! Half way through my last lap waiting to enter a section, bike was idling then it just cut out. Wouldn't start. So long push back to the van. 2 new plugs tried. No spark. Plug cap changed. No spark. Connections and wires checked. No spark. Disconnected kill switch. No spark. Bridged thermostat terminals. Kicked. Fan spins. No spark! Only my second ride on the bike. Maybe related but the bike kicks back like a shire horse every other kick. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. BTW thanks to TB for lending me his new gasser to finish the lap badly!
