  1. Hi All After a bit of tooing and frowing with the bike between dealers it was the idle speed that was too low. Even after putting an electrical tester to see the output from the stator there was no current to the spark plug. The computer bit during the charging kicks initiates the fuel pump and the injector. If enough fuel is getting through then current is sent to the spark plug. Even if the idle speed seems high do not touch the idle screw. Mr Belair you were correct, I thank you. I have fitted a 315 clutch to the bike as well and it is sooooo much better.
  2. I've heard from a local dealer today that you can have a go on the 4 stroke Sherco at Tong near Bradford tomorrow if you can get off work. A bit short notice for everyone.
  3. Thanks, I will check the spark plug and the breather hose. Infact the breather hose is really long and snakes round the handle bars and the end of it pokes out at the side of the left hand engine casing. The breather hose has a joining connection on it as well just above the fuel filler cap, is that right because people I have spoken to say the joining bit in the hose is a restrictor?
  4. Just checked the kill switch and the contacts are open so it can't be that.
  5. Yep, done the charging kicks first. It started yesterday after I did the work, its been 24 hours where the bike has been stood on its side stand and now I am having bother. Bloody kickstand imbedded itself in my leg as well, my fault perhaps for not wearing proper boots, I guess its adding to my frustration!!:-)
  6. Hi Picked up a new Mont 4RT the other day. Yesterday I changed the oil filter and replaced the engine oil as per owners manual. Started the bike afterwards no problem. Just gone to start the bike again and can't get it going at all. Any ideas on what to try to get it going again? Cheers Muffin

    2000 Beta Rev 3

    Rev 3, Any Faults?

Oh the new 05 is good! Engine is definetly smoother but snappier at the bottom end, like the flywheel weights have been taken off but they are still there. Not as snappy as a gasser but getting there with Beta smoothness, makes it easy to blat up a 3ft step from a standing start. I am sure the top riders will do some seriously dangerous stuff with this bike. Kinell, new bikes are

    05 Rev 3

I got mine yesterday. The fuel mix I use is 70:1 using PJ1 silver 2t premix oil. What cc is your bike? I have a 270 and use NGK plug is BP6ES, however my brother has the same bike and uses BP7ES. So get both and see.

    Rev 3 2004

I broke the spring and then the toe piece fell off about 3 months ago. Local dealer said it comes as a complete gear lever

    Rev 3, Any Faults?

Just had a quick blast on my new 05. Brilliant brakes, much better feel, dead easy to do a stoppie. Seems smoother although I thought that last year when I got on my 04. Looking forward tomorrow to blast up some big hills!

    Rev 3, Any Faults?

I had an 02 Rev for about 6 months, then got a new 04, and hopefully tomorrow or Saturday a new 05. So I am Beta mad. They are brilliant bikes, I've had monts and gassers before but nothing compares to that smooth engine and soft suspension and reliability. I have had no problems, only a leaky carb on the 02 which was fixed by Lampkins. A couple of guys I ride with have had stator problems but was sorted under warranty. I have had no problems with mine, just simple maintenance, stand and ride. I would say the 270 is slightly smoother than the 250 and has a little more power lower down. I am not a brilliant rider so power aside I go for the 270 because of the extra smoothness.
