Carb Question?

Featured Replies

The symptons, 2003 cota

3 turns out and my motor knocks possible fuel starvation. 4 turns out and she turns my plugs dark after 4 hours of riding. This all happens after a well cleaned carb.

My jets are 110, 60 and 33.

I run premium gas 80:1

Is there much affect by raising the needle or lowering?

Help!

Hi Sam,

The needle will make a big difference to the 1/4 to 3/4 area of the throttle.

I run a small washer to get a 1/2 clip position 3-1/2

Your bike did sound pretty bad there a couple of times I heard it. Almost electrical miss fire.

Maybe???? Exhaust

I had to clean out the exhaust on my bike as it would detonate low end yet run rich when reving up.

Leaning out the top ( main) helped. It was not the cure or problem.

But the cure was to run the hell out of it in 4th till it fogged up the whole area. After several foggings it ran great again.

Milt,

My bike was very blubbery at the last event, I'm going to run the 5 mile loop tonight to clean out the exhaust.

Also, I'll change my pilot jet like trialsurfer mentions!

I'm not going to mess with the needle, this bikes settings are stock from the factory, I'm sure.

Thanks again,

sam

But you do mess with the pilot

Look at the needle the same way as the pilot, just an other tuning device. :guinness:
