October 10, 200619 yr I looking to buy and restore a twinshock yamaha TY 175/250 Have found sites selling basic parts .But what about engine ,gearbox and clutch parts are they still available if so where ?Help please regards phil
October 10, 200619 yr Just about all the parts are still available. Check ebay or online Yamaha parts dealer. Piston kits and complete crank/rod kits are the hardest to find. Are you in the USA? I have two complete TY175s that are apart, with many new parts. Not sure if I still want to tackle the restoration now? Mick USA
October 11, 200619 yr i picked up a TY175 "project" bike last week for 50 quid, which is missing a couple of bits, but came with a complete frame, cycle parts and as far as i can see is only missing the flywheel cover and the seat. Original exhaust etc. Parts are easy to comeby. There are lots of parts on ebay.co.uk this week and people includng http://www.classictrial.co.uk/ Classic-Pre65-and-TY-Trials-Shop Interesting to see that DK Motorcycle Spares have new Yamaha TY plastics for sale on their ebay shop at the moment also. Spares availability is pretty good and though like all twinshock spares it can be pricey for specific items. Sammy Miller for example, has the nice but expensive fibreglass single seat units. Its cheaper to buy job lots (like the box of bits I bought last week).
October 16, 200619 yr You could also try Here I've been using them recently, good service and plenty of parts in stock. Scott.
