im writing the post on behalf of a mate he has a 92 gas gas and his spark is getting realy week the gap on the plug is beeing made so small so that it can get a spark and me and him think it needs a new coil can they be replaced and if so where do you get one from and roughfly how much money will it cost also is it easy to fit

    I'll bet it's the stator not the coil. Close the plug gap to about .003 and see if it will run. You will have to find someome who will rebuild motoplat stators. I sent one to a guy in Washington state one time for a rebuild I think his name was david pyle. :)
