Help! Oil In The Wrong Side Of The Engine Case?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

the right hand side engine case on my 2000 Montesa is pretty scratched, so i thought id take it off and polish it, i asked a mate and he told me that this side should not have any oil behind it as it was the oppisite side to the clutch (i myself know nothing about motorbikes) however when i started to take the casing off oil started to drip from behind it, now having been told there was no oil nehind this side i imediatly tightened the case back up,

can anyone tell me A) If this is normal and im being stupid.

OR

B ) Whats f*cked?

Any help would be great,

Ta,

A very worried Jonno....

I guess you swapped out the Beta for a Montesa?

It's the other way around, right side is the clutch with oil and left side is the Ignetion with no oil. Be carefull to get the o-ring back in place when you put it back togther.
