06 Beta Rubber Cable Guide

Anyone found a good way to secure the rubber cable guide that sits in the recess by the petrol cap at the top of the tank and houses the clutch, throttle and electrics hose/cables?

After prepping my bike after each trial and spending 5 mins fiddling around getting the guide properly re-seated, it usually pops back out again after one left and one right turn.

Am thinking about running some black silicone sealent around it but wondered if there is a better way.

I've never had problems with mine once it is seated, but it can take a fair bit of fiddling about with to get it seated. Are you absolutely sure that it is properly through the hole all the way round?

1. Gently take off the o ring on the petrol filler

2. Squeeze the wide end of the rubber.....

3. use the cut out on the back of the plastic piece to ensure the rubber is all the way in....

4. Gently pull it back through till it get into the right slot....

5. Give it a squirt of WD40 to lube the cables/hoses

6. gently slide the plastic over the filler

7. Put the O ring back on

Sorry Andy, how much innuendo can you get in the one post.....I'll understand if this disappears
