When tinkering in the shed last night i started up my bike and because of poor light i noticed a spark jumping from the spark plug ignition lead to a screw on the radiator the gap between the two was about 2mm. Is this normal? Cheers.

Having had bikes for over 30 years and worked on engines for about that long.

I would say that is not right, I would move the lead away from where it is.

I would also say that the plug lead is breaking down. You could try some ignition sealer available from Halfords or the like.
