January 8, 200719 yr With the wheel bearings on my bike feeling almost indexed it seems time to change them. However I can't see any markings on them as to their spec. Can anyone tell me the model number of them please so I can order them from a bearing specialist? I don't want to bash them out to try and find it as I'm in France and will be a little while to get some sent over so may as well ride it until they arrive! Many thanks for your help. Mil
January 8, 200719 yr I'm pretty sure that they are '6004 RS' bearings... Can anyone else confirm whether that's right or wrong?
January 8, 200719 yr Kinell is correct in saying 6004 2rs wheel bearings which are standard for most makes of trials bikes :agree:
January 8, 200719 yr Ebay seems a good spot for wheel bearings. Even the super high quality bearings will not last a long time, so you might as well replace them more regularly with bearings of slightly lower quality, which are about a tenth of the price. 6004 2RS is correct, although i think that sometimes the 2RS is missed off, this simply refers to the seal type I believe. January 8, 200719 yr Author Many thanks for the replies and clarifying for me. I'm going to approach a bearing supplier directly as I've had good success with getting high quality bearings very cheaply and they might last a bit longer with decent sealing. Cheers Mil
January 8, 200719 yr Hi, The rs in the 6004rs stands for rubber seal - one tip i was given was to prise off the seals - get as much of the grease out as poss - and re-pack with good quality waterproof grease- might help them last a bit longer

January 21, 200719 yr I fitted front bearings to my 99 techno which was easy enough but there was a couple of very thin shims, one of which I found on the deck, the other stuck to the speedo drive. they are not detailed in the parts manual so was not really sure where they went so I guessed! Does anyone know exactly where all the shims and washers go? I have no manual for this bike which is proving a problem. Beta do not respond to the email address on their web site either. Is there anyone with a copy of a manual please?
