Beta Wheels Bearings

With the wheel bearings on my bike feeling almost indexed it seems time to change them. However I can't see any markings on them as to their spec. Can anyone tell me the model number of them please so I can order them from a bearing specialist? I don't want to bash them out to try and find it as I'm in France and will be a little while to get some sent over so may as well ride it until they arrive!

Many thanks for your help.

Mil

Ebay seems a good spot for wheel bearings. Even the super high quality bearings will not last a long time, so you might as well replace them more regularly with bearings of slightly lower quality, which are about a tenth of the price.

6004 2RS is correct, although i think that sometimes the 2RS is missed off, this simply refers to the seal type I believe.

Many thanks for the replies and clarifying for me.

I'm going to approach a bearing supplier directly as I've had good success with getting high quality bearings very cheaply and they might last a bit longer with decent sealing.

Cheers

Hi,

The rs in the 6004rs stands for rubber seal - one tip i was given was to prise off the seals - get as much of the grease out as poss - and re-pack with good quality waterproof grease- might help them last a bit longer :)

I fitted front bearings to my 99 techno which was easy enough but there was a couple of very thin shims, one of which I found on the deck, the other stuck to the speedo drive. they are not detailed in the parts manual so was not really sure where they went so I guessed! Does anyone know exactly where all the shims and washers go? I have no manual for this bike which is proving a problem. Beta do not respond to the email address on their web site either. Is there anyone with a copy of a manual please?
