January 9, 200719 yr hi all i was just wondering where the best place to get a rear wheel re laced as i`ve got a few spokes brocken on my 290 rear wheel,and any suggestion on price. many Thanks.
January 9, 200719 yr Ian, They are easily replaced if broken without re-building the wheel, no harder than replacing a tire. If you are not handy, find a club mate who is! That is the easiest way, although he may charge you a few pints!
January 10, 200719 yr Author Thanks but a lot of the nipples are rusty and the few that are broken are as a result of trying to tighten them as they were loose, i`ve soaked them in various different lubricants etc and have not suceeded to loosen them off,that is why i am going down the root of getting them all replaced so as not to have this problem in the future, your thoughts on this would greatly be appreciated. many Thanks ian.
January 10, 200719 yr Ian, Not sure where you are located, but most cycle shops can build a wheel from scratch, just ask them if they are good at it. The best guys I ever seen at wheels would tell you honestly no problem, or grimace at the thought! Even the push bike guys are normally very good at wheels, and cheap too. Just get a set of spokes and nipples on order, do you have a local dealer?
