Can anyone point me in the right direction for a decent pair of gloves I.e warm for the long streaches of Cross country in the scottish.

Bugger me, it's the Chuckle Brothers.

I rode bits of 2005 SSDT with xc-ting 'Fort William' trials gloves. They are slightly bulkier than the normal but not so much that they can't be used even in sections. They are fully water and wind proof but have think palms. I had a pair of normal ones I used most of the time and only really put the Fort Williams on for long cold road work and some moor crossings.
