January 18, 200719 yr The chromium barrel is far harder than the aluminium piston left on it so fine emery paper will do no harm. The effect of the piston seizing will already have done some damage but don't make it worse with vertical strokes, use lateral ones. Chances are the the damage will be below the exhaust port so don't worry - it'll be fine.
January 19, 200719 yr a 50/50 DILUTION OF MURATIC(SWIMMING POOL) ACID AND WATER WILL DISSOLVE THE ALUMINUM. aDD ACID TO WATER, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND, Oops, caps lock!
January 19, 200719 yr If my memory is correct. Hydrocloric acid will remove or help to flake off the aluminum. Somebody on this forum will confirm or correct my thoughts.
