OK GUYS, JUST TAKEN THE ORIGINAL DUNLOP REAR TYRE OFF MY 2023 MONTESA 4RT. ( yes not had a lot of use as i also do pre 65 and have had an injury ) IVE REPLACED IT WITH A NEW DUNLOP GEOMAX TL01. IVE HEARD THAT THE SIDE WALLS ARE VERY STIFF AND HAVING JUST DROPPED IT OFF ITS STAND ONTO THE FLOOR IVE GOT TO AGREE. I KNOW THEY'RE STANDARD KIT ON THE NEW BETA RANGE. JUST WONDERING WHAT PRESSURES PEOPLE ARE USING , DOES THE WALL GET SOFTER OR IS THAT THE DESIGN OF THE TYRE. JUST CURIOUS, I RAN THE OTHER DUNLOP ON 4PSI. THANKS EVERYONE.

Hi ti all, replacing base gasket and I notice the existing one is made of a thick gasket paper and the genuine ones I see for sale all have the port cutouts where my old one does not. Only recently purchased and appeared to run ok but was leaking around the base gasket when hot. Many thanks for any advice. Cheers Rob from NZ.

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I just bought a 2008 rev3 250 and i absolutely love it... but the rear brake pedal is just too uncomfortable. it sits way too high and i have to keep my foot tilted upwards all the time and no amount of adjustment can bring the brake pedal at the same level as the foot peg without making it unusable due to it touching the frame. I would also argue that the rear brake is very weak even though the whole system is in good condition. Any amount of help is welcome!

Im fairly new to trials, started in December. On one of my early events, I got penalised with a 5 for rolling backwards on a section. Not very far, maybe 10 or 12 inches. So im rather confused when I watch all the hopping about to see really good riders jumping backwards and even rolling backwards. This morning there was a clip of a rider bouncing his bike around and rolling back into a prime spot pointed out by his minder. Are there different sets of rules for club trials and national events? Im not moaning at all, just confused Cheers all

  6. I have a recurring issue with the rear (tubed) tyre becoming partially unseated. There's no problem with getting it to seat initially - a bit of lube, inflate it to 60 or 70 psi and it pops on nicely, all the way around. The problem occurs after I deflate it to my normal pressure (4 psi) and ride it. A section of the bead slips off its seat, about 250mm in length. I can reseat it easily but when I deflate it back to riding pressure and ride the bike it happens again. The rim looks fine, as does the tyre itself - both are fairly new. Suggestions? Superglue and self-tapping screws?

Hi All, I am in need of a new alloy ( if possible ) rear sprocket for my 1969 AJS 37AT that I am busy building. I have attached a sketch of what I need. If I can get only get one that is close, then I am sure I can modify it to suit. The existing sprocket has been made from two steel sprockets and weighs the same as a baby hippo !! Has anyone had a bespoke sprocket made, and if so, where. Or can anyone point me in the right direction. Thks Bruce Watts AJS 37A Rear Sprocket.pdf

Hello! I was directed here by Google, sorry if it’s the wrong place to ask the question! I have an Oset bike, 24 Senior, we bought it in July 2020. It was used a few times only and then its engine was stuck, gave out some u happy smoke and my husband had to literally carry it home. 🫣 Since then we had it in storage, it looks fine otherwise and because nobody’s going to use it we thought of selling it for spares. Is it a viable idea or…? Thank you!

Hi, iv got myself a crackin little bike that touch wood is running great. im after making the clutch a little lighter, I shot a nail through my left hand many moons ago and i think I could practice for longer if the lever had a lighter action. any tips or adjustments I can make? Iv seen online about sanding clutch plates and putting washers under springs. any advice would be greatly appreciated. many thanks

  10. To save me reinventing the wheel, has anyone seen a guide on making your own universal trials seat? (like the Apico ones) If not I'll knock something together, but I can envisage lots of trial and error (pun intended), I've seen a couple of local riders who made their own but of course I haven't had a chance to engage them in conversation 😕

I dont want brand new, but want something with parts readily available. I need some advise on what make and age of bike. I have about £2500 to spend Thanks in advance

Good afternoon, I have a 2011 beta evo 250 2t. Had it for a couple of years now. Having s issue where when I rev it, it can take ages to come back down. I have tried messing with mixture screw and doesnt seem to make any difference if 2 out or 3/4 out. I have had the card apart and clean all indivicdual components with carb clean. Again no difference. I have tried to spray brake clean at intake system to see if it revs it doesnt change. Am I right in thinking this could be the crank seal? Or am i barking up the wrong tree? Also its does idle fine. TIA

Time for a new rear tyre. I got to see side by side the Michelin X11, IRC, and kenda Ibex and the ibex was definitely a nice gummy compound, softer than the other two. I assumed the downside of them must be the wear rate but talking with the vendor and googling it doesn't appear to be the case (weirdly the opposite in fact). There is a suggestion the ibex side wall may be slightly stiffer than a x-light but that's all. I can't really seem to find a negative thing about them. So why would I buy a £140 tyre when an ibex is half that? Looking for input from anyone with firsthand experience with them...

  19. Hello. I'm new to trials and can say that I'm a proud owner of a 2013 Beta Evo Factory 250! I love everything about the bike but there's only one thing that's causing an issue, it doesn't have a light/ mapping switch. I can only assume that the switch had been broken and taken off, (after all, they seem to be in a very vulnerable spot). Anyway, with my situation, I could really do with the headlight working again. The wiring at the front seems connected properly so I took the main body off and it seems like there is a loose 4-pin and 2-pin connection. Am I right in assuming that the 2-pin connection is for the brake/ rear bulb? I'm not worried about that bulb as the bulb …

Hi I’ve just bought a 2001 315 it looks like it has had very little use ,I was going over it and on removing the carb there is what looks like a restrictor plate in the manifold with what looks like a 20mm hole in it ,is this standard? As It is not shown in the parts catalogue, thanks for your help.
