Thanks for getting back, I mean my existing gasket that's on the engine has zero cut outs except for the piston area in the middle, makes me wonder how the gates flow correctly through the ports.
Cheers Rob.
Hi ti all, replacing base gasket and I notice the existing one is made of a thick gasket paper and the genuine ones I see for sale all have the port cutouts where my old one does not. Only recently purchased and appeared to run ok but was leaking around the base gasket when hot.
Many thanks for any advice.
Cheers Rob from NZ.
Hi again,
after stripping head and barrel I discovered back two barrel bolts were able to be loosened by hand and a very thin and compromised base gasket. Manufactured a nice thicker new gasket, reassembled and torqued everything to spec and started 2nd kick and after warm up idled nicely, Hopefully bullet dodged.
Cheers Rob.
Hi team,
Had an issue with my TY, engine ran away due to leaking crank seals, totally leaned the poor thing out and had to stall it to stop the engine. Replaced seals and upon re start very noisey, struggling to idle and noticing movement in the head and barrel so presumIng I have stripped the head studs.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Cheers Rob.
