98 315 Wont Idle Properly

Hi again,

My 315 has developed a fault.

It will start fine when cold but at standard idle speed it would just cut out, so to counter this I increased the idle speed this works for about a minute the engine slows down and cuts out again. No matter how high I set the idle it still does this.

Also sometimes when riding along it lerches on every beat of the engine and cuts out.

When I bought it, it seemed to be a lot of oil:petrol compared to normal in the tank and black sludgey oil dripped out the end of the exhaust. Now running on the correct mix this has stopped.

I also noticed that the engine-downpipe gasket is knackered which I will replace.

any help appreciated please.

I just want it to idle properly.
