2000 Rev 3 Wheel Bearing Removal

Featured Replies

How is this done. I have taken the wheel out, removed both the pressed in spacers and the circlip from one side, but I just can't see how to remove the bearings themselves. Can anybody shed light on this situation? Cheers :banana2:

edit: I fogot to say this is the rear wheel.

get a long punch and slip it in through the bearing on one side untill it touches the other bearing, the spacer inbetween both bearings should move enough for you to just catch the bearing, then with a hammer tap the punch in a cross pattern,ie hit the top then the bottom then the side and then the opposite sid(12 o clock,6 o clock,9 o clock,3 o clock)and repeat this untill the bearing comes out,but remember not to hit too much on one side or the bearing will become out of true and make it harder to remove, its quite a simple process really, hope this helps.forgot to mention if the spacer between the bearings is snug and wont move out of the way,use an old socket the same diameter as the center of the bearing and hit the center of one bearing, this should shift the bearing on the opposite side enough for the spacer to move out of the way
