June 30, 200719 yr For historic purposes only - Can any of you long time trials history buffs tell me when the last time an American competed in the European championships? Bonus. Who was it and how did he finish?
June 30, 200719 yr Please tell me it wasn't Lane..................... next you'll ask me to quote the 3 rules of Pro trials Well done to Pat!

June 30, 200719 yr different question but how is an american eligible for the european championship ? Has Europe expanded ? He's classed as a guest rider so his results don't count in the Championship. It would be kind of crazy to come all this way and not be given the opportunity to ride.
June 30, 200719 yr Author It would be kind of crazy to come all this way and not be given the opportunity to ride. Well said Andy. Now on your side of the pond, I completely mystified. What happened to Alexz?
July 1, 200719 yr It would be kind of crazy to come all this way and not be given the opportunity to ride. Well said Andy. Now on your side of the pond, I completely mystified. What happened to Alexz? Alexz had some really good rides but 4/5 sections were a little too much even for his Pro Racing. His riding improved today and he was in fact 2nd after 9 sections, so he had a great day today to finish 4th on the only 125 as he is still 17. Don't take this the wrong way, it is possible to read too much in the results on face value there was alot more going on in the trial, marking etc. There also seemed a mission by some observers to mark unbelievably strictly to more often non-Italians. On the junior route an Italian used two bikes after blowing one up! You won't find that in the scores!
