Hello, i have a 2000 250 beta rev3 and im not sure what the previous owner has done so i want to change the transmission oil. I was wondering what grade of oil to use. In the book it says 20w-30 but the only gearbox oil i have is some 70w-80 and ep90. I also read somewhere oils have different ratings for gearboxes and crankcases and was wondering if maybe the beta book gives a crankcase rating because i have never seen gearbox oil with a rating as thin as 20w-30. Also the clutch drags slightly when the oil is cold and i'd quite like it to not do this i was wondering if people know which oils are bad for this.

i run my bikes on rock oil lite gear oil and have had no bother with them,i had a 95 techno and now an 06 rev3 so your bike would use the same oil,hope this helps

Thanks guys, i'll check those out. Do you reckon any good quality light motorcycle gear oil will be an ok thing to use?
