Noisy Fan

Featured Replies

My bike has developed a noisy fan, not sure what it is, i have checked there isnt anything in the way of it and there isnt, anyone any ideas?

thanks

when it starts to squeal stop it with your finger (don't forget to wear a glove). this is reputed to often "fix" the squeal. i ended up getting a new fan.

BTW sure you know but keep that washer away from the fan.

the sort of noises is like when you used to put a card or coke can in you back wheel of your push bike?

but obviously not as loud,

Thanks

What year Pro is it? If it is one of the newer ones with the rubber cover on the back of the fan, Pull the cover back a put a couple of drops of spray lube on the end of the fan shaft. Won't hurt anything, It stopped mine from squealing ;)

You might have a stray electrical wire hanging in the way of the fan, or the fan blades catching on the shroud - check for marks on the blade edges, or if the brass bushes inside the fan are worn, the motor could squeal.
