August 30, 200718 yr hi im just wondering if anyone could help me at all, i have a 2006 gas gas 250 and it aint revving out, it will start perfectly every time but after about half throttle it wont rev and starts popping and backfiring and stuff, just wondering if anyone hasd had this problem or if anyone could give me some advise as to what to look at etc p.s ive cleaned the carb, air filter is clean etc, new plug in it, fuel and everything is ok anyone help would be appreciated coxy
August 30, 200718 yr How long has this been goin on ?? will it rev out some times but not others or is it consistant ??
August 30, 200718 yr My mates 06 Raga was doing something similar after swapping everything off my bike it was the PLUG cap!!! fitted new plug cap then finished the trial at Scott speed!!
August 30, 200718 yr Author its been doing it on sundey and it wont rev out fully at all but it has done it once before but i cleaned the carb out and it run fine again but its defo not carb this time
August 30, 200718 yr Did you blow the carb out with an air line to clean it? if not blow it out as something might be stuck in a jet or passage. Disconnect the kill switch encase your problems there, sometimes they can be the cause of many hours of pulling bikes apart
August 30, 200718 yr Author yeah blown the carb and all the jets out with air line and soaked them in carb cleaner so nowt in there will try that tomorrow thanks! but i would of though if it was the kill switch it wouldn`t run at all??
August 31, 200718 yr Its probably the plug cup then, same happened on my bike but it was intermittent would rev out some times but not others but it was on a 125 But tis a cheep and easy thing to check + if its not that then you have got a spare one.
August 31, 200718 yr Yea, try that plug cap its hard to catch. I would also remove the gas tank valve /filter and clean it.
