Sidi Boots.

Hi everyone.

Got some SIDI motocross boots a few weeks ago and have some questions to ask.

I tried to ride in them for a bit, but compared to my old boots there was absolubtly no feeling in them at all. Iv'e been told that this is supposed like that, but I see the soles of everyone else's boots flexing a lot more than mine do. Are all trials boots like that, or is it because they are motocross boots. And finally, will they be ok to ride in once (If) I get used to them?

Cheers, Pete

It's because you got moto boots.. They're designed for protection and sliding your feet!

Trials boots are designed more for flexibilty. You can walk sections in them..

Of course, if you hit a big rock ripping down the loop they don't protect as well as moto boots. But personally I find moto boots impossible to trials in (and then if I get on an enduro or moto bike I feel like i've got cement blocks on my feet...)

:D It'll be a tough job to 'trim' the sole, as you said, they are hard and will proberbly bust the boots, or you will be making a trip to your local A&E when whatever you used to cut it, slipped.

Hebo/Graene produce replacement soles for their boots...its a possibility that if the soles on your boots are removable, you could get a cobler to fit some trials soles.

...Much, much work though, and for what its worth, proberbly isnt worth it. Better to invest in some trials boots, theres a wide choice, and some cheap/expensive...Its well worth it!

Cutting the sole won't gain you much. It's in the shank that the MX boots are stiffened. I won't ride without them on my Enduro/MX bike, but can't ride anything on the Trials bike with them...cement blocks is a good description.

They will probably soften up a little as they break in, but will never be as flexable as a trials boot
