Do I Need To Bleed The Coolant? 04 300 Raga

Featured Replies

hello, i have a 04 300 raga, i have just changed the water pump, do i need to bleed the coolant or just fill it up then top it up after running for a while?

also is there a good way to bleed clutch fluid as i have just replaced the clutch hose.

thanks very much!

bingo

with the coolant top it up to the bottom of rad neck squeezing hoses as you do it then just run engine with rad cap off breifley and observe coolant returning via pump, stop motor and then let it settle and then top up coolant as neccesary. with the clutch get a syringe and back fill making sure any air bubbles are out of syringe prior to pushing through. hope this helps.

thanks, all done and back together, although it was a bitch to bleed the clutch, when you said just push the fluid up from the bottom you made it sound easy, it must have taken about an hour, i dont know if i managed to push any fluid up but i got some air to travel up whilst keeping pressure on the syringe and pumping the clutch lever.

thanks for all the help

did you find there was alot of resistance against the scyringe? if so its probably because there is pressure on the clutch master cylinder, undo the locking nut on the adjuster on the lever and wind it all the way back so there is no pressure from the lever on the master cylinder, the fluid should travel freely through the hose and out the resevoir, be careful though, the fluid can shoot out very very fast and high!! so you should only need a little bit of pressure and you will see the resevoir filling up (you will probably need to empty it out with another scyringe as it can get too full).

hope this helps =]
