December 8, 200322 yr My 250 pro produces a pronounced rattle @ tickover especially on the overrun.the symptoms are typical of a worn top end ,the bike has not done much work and i have replaced the rings and inspected the bore which is in good order.i can only imagine the barrel is worn. Any suggestions before i invest in a replacement barrel and piston. ear plugs maybe!
December 9, 200322 yr Before replacing the cylinder, measure the piston to cylinder wall clearance. I don't have the spec off the top of my head, but your dealer or importer should be able to get it for you. What's the piston look like?
