Practise Ground

Featured Replies

Hi.

Anybody got any suggestions for some good places in Kent (preferably east kent) where I can legally (if that's at all possible) practise trials riding. I have been to a few places where other riders say that nobody minds, but it would be nice to know of some other venues.

Cheers.

as far as i know there is no where that is fully legal in the south

there are some light grey places, where you pay and no one really has investigated planning and insurance (ie you get away with it), but that might be further afield (Sussex/Surrey way)

there are some almost black places like you mention where you ride illegally and its semi tolerated

generally speaking however there are so many trials clubs down here in the south east (kent, sussex and surrey) - circa 20+ that there are events every weekend. clubs trials, group trials and "beginner and wobbler" trials are ideal for beginners wanting to get to grips with trials (it worked for me!)

there are six clubs in the east kent area that make up the East Kent Trials combine, but only a few have websites; http://www.fmcctrials.co.uk/ (Folkestone), http://www.gest-club.co.uk/ (Hastings) and http://www.tenterdenanddistrictmcc.co.uk/ (Tenterden) there is also the Ashford club, Barham club, Sittingbourne club

you might also want to check out ;

Hi Rabie

I am in the OWLS club at the moment and can usually get a ride at least twice a month. The two pieces of ground I use are ok but wondered if there was somewhere to go and pay n play. You mentioned something about Surrey / Sussex. What's the name or location of these places so I might be able to find out more about them too.

I ride a fully legal, insured practice area up here in Essex (brentwood area). Too far for you to travel?
