January 16, 200818 yr hi all as usual went over board with the tightening of the spokes and broke them just realy need to kno were too get a set of spokes (alredy threded) from? also can anybody give me any tips on fitting them? nax
January 17, 200818 yr Call BVM and speak to "Lawrence" or Rick... they will send you the correct spokes (surely you haven't broken a whole set!!). They can also advise on tensioning them. As a rule, I give each spoke the "tap it with a small spanner" treatment and listen to the tone they make. As long as they are all making the same tone (and not so high that only dogs can hear it!), then you can be confident they are evenly tensioned. Someone may dispute this technique but it has worked for me for the last 25 years.
January 17, 200818 yr Hava a look at http://www.shercousa.com/pdfs/sherco_setup...ation_guide.pdf which gives some info on wheel truing.
January 18, 200818 yr Also work on the 1/4 turn on every 3rd spoke, until one side complete (3 revolutions) then do the other side. Repeat if still a little loose. Helps keep everything even.
