does anyone use anything other than the elf htx 740 and if so what? as im finding it hard to get it around leicester

Whatever else you use, repsol,ATF etc your clutch won't be as smooth and it'll be more difficult to start in gear.

Have you tried BVM for ELF ?

I've had ELF (which is good)

I now use cheapo ATF from Halfords, not as good as the ELF ...... but not far off.

windlestone is right about BVM, thats were I got mine from ....

i use valvoline, its great nice quality oil and smooth. Have used it last coulpe of years without any problems. Go for it.

I have been using the HRC synthetic tranny oil with good results!

Same here. It's easy to get, reasonably priced, and I think the clutch action is fine.

dont you still have the original tranny oil in yours as I believe your supposed to change it after the first 10hrs, and we both know you havent passed that mark yet dude!!! See you soon

The oil that I was referring to, is from the local Honda motorcycle dealer, and is the same oil specified for the Honda CRF 4-stroke MX gearboxes. It's not intended for girly automatics! I don't have a bottle in front of me, but it's called something like "Honda Performance Transmission Oil", or maybe "Honda Racing...".

Is it the 10W40, which appears to be synthetic, or the 80W/85W, which is unclear as to natural/synthetic?
