February 7, 200818 yr What black box did you replace was it the one on the fan cowl (rectifier) it wont be that one it is the one under the bottom yolk on the frame (regulator) the fan has a constant live to it all the time the thermo sender gives an earth
February 7, 200818 yr I recently had a problem with my regulator and had to replace it. replaced the thermostat too, when the wires were crossed the fan ran fine but it wouldnt start up. in the end i went down the garden and gave the motor some hammer until either the fan kicked it or the coolant boiled over. Luckily the fan kicked in but it had to get bloody hot!! does it work if you just bypass the thermostat? Tom
