April 1, 200818 yr First time I've had this problem but on the 08 Rev the bar clamps are painted and the paint was seperating from the clamp causing the bars to slip. I guess I had not even noticed the clamps were painted and just assumed they were raw cast but after removing to investigate what was causing the slipping I noticed the paint bubbles and flaking inside the clamp. A quick wire brush and back in action. I never noticed this or at least never had a bar slip on my 07? Just something to check before you get into an event and have bars move on you.
April 3, 200818 yr Aint this because 08 bike has black painted bar that 07 and older ones didnt have?
April 4, 200818 yr Author It is not the bar that paint comes off it is the bar mounts. They bars I am sure are some type of anodized coating and seem to hold up well as always.
