April 20, 200818 yr I've got a new 6mm bashplate ready to fit, bought off H&D racing on fleebay. Looks like a great improvement The instructions suggest tightening the front bolts on a bit, then lining up the rears. Thing is, the angle of the front of the plate is such that the rear bolts are about 1/2 and inch off. The 6mm metal doesnt want to bend at all. How on earth do i bend it in to place? How should i angle the bike when working on it? Lie it on its side? Any ideas guys? Jza
April 20, 200818 yr it took me and my dad to get mine on, it was a right royal pain in the ass!! bolted it on at the rear then used a log to wedge under the front of the plate, my dad used his weight to bend the plate while i got the bolts in. good luck dude
April 20, 200818 yr Use a ratchet strap under the sump and over the seat - might be worth protecting the strap from the sharp edges of the sump guard with a bit of carpet or cardboard.
April 30, 200818 yr Author Used my ratchet strap and some carpet, tightened up and pushed a bit and got it on.. phew... thanks for the responses guys
May 1, 200818 yr I've just fitted a H&D plate for the SSDT. Bolted it on at the front first & then the rear, no straps needed as it was a drop fit.
