Just bought a 07/08 rear silencer cover to replace my worn out cover on 05 4rt.

All looks the same apart from the little bracket that hooks onto the tag at the rear of the silencer - problem is that there isn't one on the new one. Note sure if this is a mod on the later covers or whether it is missing.

Anybody with a later bike could you let me know if the cover still clips on at the rear below the bolt.

Before you ask I am putting on the later cover as it does not have the 4rt embossing which is where it has worn through.

Any help appreciated.

05 rear silencer is much thinner that 07/08 silencer

The top edge of silencer cover is half as deep again

think your new cover may foul your rear mudgaurd when you tighten it up

A slight snip around the mounting bracket and a couple of folds along the top edge to compensate for the thinner 05 silencer makes it fit spot on.

could try putting some clear plastic, like technosel on the cover, mine is badly scratched from boots already
