Has anyone got a basic guide to bike maintenace !

Hi all i am just in the throws of trying to flog my bike. but the people it's should be going to dont no a lot any ideas of a guide to maintenace or one on a previous post ! thanks in advance Ben

can you try that in english, Ive got no idea what you want .

wash the bike with warm soapy water after use

just clean and oil the filter after every use

change the gear box oil regulary with good quality oil (every month)

give the bike a good look over for any damage that might of happend

if the bike needs a part replacing, replace it as soon as possible.

this is what i do:

remove seat tank etc , cover exhaust and carb inlet then jet wash it,

spray with jet of air to remove excess liquid.

remove filter and wash it , reaply oil

tank chain off , soak it in oil for a few days, remove excess and re fit.

take carb off , bowl off bottom, blow out jets, rebuild and re fit.

take throttle off, clean bars and throttle internals, oil where wheel goes and smear oil on bars, re fit throttle , oil cable.

check bearings, all bike for loose nuts and bolts. pads sprockets, water etc

clean air box with soapy water rince and dry it.

change gear box oil every month (depending on trials you've done)

put it all back together and ride it to make sure all is ok.

takes about 2 hours ish a week.

Just point the new owners in the direction of the gas gas section of this forum. They can ask any specific questions they have there and I'm sure they'll get decent help.

you have to clean the spark arrestor screen!,i do it at every air filter cleaning, mine clogged once lost seriuos power and caused the piston to knock luckily i figured it out in time. once a month dextron3 auto tranny fluid.and then the normal stuff
