hi have got a txt 280 just got a few month ago and dont know the age have got the frame number as was looking on another ad one lad say it should have a letter in the middle my one dont and on the plastics only got txt 280 help please.

I am now confused, according to the diagram, my frame number gives two different years of manufacture.

I have VTRGG xx01 1000 xxxx which gives a manufacture date of 2001 and also a date of October 2000. I have X-ed out the rest of my frame number just incase any lowlife tried to use it.

Am I reading the chart wrong or am I being a complete numpty?

Does it not mean that yours is 2001 model, manufactured october 2000?
