May 25, 200818 yr Hello all, I am a complete newbie to trials. Recently bought a 2008 4RT of which is great. Runs so sweet and had zero problems. On my Honda MX bikes I use a Scotts Performance stainless steel oil filter. I have found this oil filter to be the best you can get!! http://www.scottsperformance.com/products.php?PartType=3 My question is will an oil filter from a Honda CRF250 fit the 4RT ? Am I right in thinking the engines are very similar? Regards...
May 26, 200818 yr Yes the engine is basically the same as a CRF250. I use Hi-flo filters and the part no. is HF116 they are a fraction of the cost than the original HONDA OE part.
May 27, 200818 yr the scotts filters are ok but you should still replace them at least once a year, I personally don't recomend them, since paper filters are so cheap, it's my personal belief that you can't get them clean enough to use more than 5 times
