September 11, 200421 yr hi i have a 1993 250 gas gas. i am sruggling to get a spark with the cap, and the plug on, it will spark when the plug and cap are not connected, i have tried a new plug. new cap and still no change any ideas? thanks
September 12, 200421 yr Try cutting about 3/8" off the wire and screw the cap back on. Make sure you leave anough wire to still reach the plug.
September 12, 200421 yr I had a '93 GG 250 with the same problem. I ended up getting the lower coil for the ignition system rewound. I had bought it an ignition module, and pulse coil which did nothing. It turns out this model/year of Gas Gas have a known problem. The place I sent my coil to be rewound was Sgagit Powersports in Burlington, Washington, (USA) Ask for Gary Lawver. He built the jig which he used to rewind older GAS GAS coils as they are not available as far as I know. The number is 360 757 7999. Edited September 12, 200421 yr by JayLael
September 13, 200421 yr Author thanks for the help tried cutting the wire, and the new caps, i got it running by cleaning all the earth wire connections and making sure they a good fit, then we are going to clean the points and see if it starts every time, will tell you how it fairs off
