September 22, 200817 yr 40 on the rear is probably ok. It's more likely what's on the gearbox sprocket that sdriving your gearing up. When I got my 315 it had been used as a trail bike and had a 12 tooth gearbox sprocket, I think the standard was 10T but I've fitted a 9T which for me makes the first three gears a lot more useable in a trial.
September 22, 200817 yr 10 - 40 is standard. 9 - 40 is better for me in trials. 5th gear is a big jump from 4th though, obviously made for road work i would say.
October 12, 200817 yr Author Hi there I thought this forum was supposed to email me when I get an answer... Again I missed all replies. I have made my choice for a 43, since I do not know (bike is in France) what the front sprocket is. Any particular brand (Apico, Tryall, Jitsie ?) someone can recommand ? Will try to get a 10 and a 9 as well for the front anyway. Thanks again for your help Cheers E
