Ben, Check the gasket for a good seal and you usually can adjust the sealing pressure by tightening the small nut on the inside of the filler cap. laser1 Posted December 1, 2008 Report Share Posted December 1, 2008 I had a similar problem on my 08 250. The ID of the tank opening was about 0.050" undersize and wasnt finished machined (rough edge on top ID surface) - no anodizing either. The cap would barely fit into the tank and the seal would leak at the back edge. My dealer swapped out the tank and now its fine. If its not a simple tension adjustment like JSE suggested, it may be possible there is another few bad tanks floating around.
