December 6, 200817 yr Can I stick motocross style 3M graphics onto the tank of my 02 Montesa 315? Ive decided to get my forks and rear shock serviced so at the same time i thought I'd inject some more life back into the beast with some factory stylee graphics! Any advice is appreaciated, cheers.

December 7, 200817 yr Author I was sure I'd read something about some plastic tanks not being able to have stickers on them because it would stop air permiating through, which was the principle these tanks worked on. Not sure though. Any chance of seeing some of your custom jobs? Im just about to leave for the garage to begin stripping down...
December 7, 200817 yr Not sure Jamie i think only the early bikes like Bultaco had that problem. To be honest i thought the 315 had an alu tank like my GasGas so maybe ask around first ? Cheers, Ed

December 7, 200817 yr Hi,just sold my 315,def got a plastic tank,the factory graphics are laquered in,but you can paint them or graphic how you want,the mudguards are a different matter though,you have to specify vinyl suitable for use on polypropelene otherwise it won't stick,i used a guy that did work on MX bikes
December 7, 200817 yr The only other tanks that you have difficulty putting stickers on re:breathability are the old Yamaha monoshock TYR small plastic tanks. If you put the wrong type of sticker on them, the adhesive can draw the fuel thruogh the tank wall.
