Help Ty250 Mono

Featured Replies

I JUST PURCHASED AN EBAY PWK28 FROM A 2006 YZ85 THAT I WANT TO CONVERT TO A TY250 MONO 1985 I PURCHASED A 3.5 SLIDE FROM OKO DOWN UNDER AND A JJH NEEDLE BUT NOT SURE A GOOD STARTING POINT FOR MAIN AND PILOT PLUS- AIR SCREW TURNS HAVE 110 MAIN AND 38 PILOT IN MY HEAD FOR SOME REASON ? (READING TO MANY SHERCO FORUMS MABEY) ANYBODY BEING HERE ?

Sounds as though it will get you a start. I ran the 45/125 setup on the Sherco.

Much depends upon just how she runs. You will need to play with the idle and airscrew, but mostly those carbs seem to like somewhere in the .5- 2.5 turn out range on the screw with 1.5 being close to optimum within its range of operation. So if you are beyond that to make it run well at and off idle, you might change pilot jet accordingly. Once you dial it in the range, a + or - for the conditions at hand will do.

Here is my setup which works for me so far.

3.5 Slide JJH needle in on the second clip from the bottom.

Jetting I used a 38 Slow 115 Main / Air mixture screw 1/2 turn out.

no more pinging !!

Sounds like a good start then, fine tuning to taste is all it takes! You just have to spend some quality time and experiment around a bit!
