February 14, 200917 yr What are the steps to properly replace the throttle cable on a 2005 Rev3? Thanks. I don't need to take off the carb right? Just unscrew the the slide mechanism at the top of it right????
February 14, 200917 yr I dont think theres room to remove the slide without the carb off. Just do it and clean at the same time.Undo the cable at the bars and either tie string to the nipple or fix new cable to the old and pull through. You could do this from the carb end as well not sure which is best. Either way its not difficult
February 14, 200917 yr Be very careful to follow the same route with the cable. As said abbove, you will have trouble getting the slide off without removing the carb, so you may as well take it off and give it a good clean. Infact, it's a good idea to clean the carb evry few events anyway, especially in the summer when there is more dust around. Pete
