October 23, 200421 yr Can anyone tell mewhat is the correct mixture i should be using when mixing my petrol.....? Currentlymixing at 50:1...... Using Silkolene comp2 pre-mix oil I have (what has now been identified as) a '92 BETA SuperTrial(aircooled) Anyone recommend any better oil? What do you all use?
October 23, 200421 yr I run at 80:1 and have heard of people who run at 100:1 According to John Stoodley over at GasGas USA, modern watercooled engines should be fine at 100:1 but I think I'd be constantly listening to the engine for peculiar noises if I ran my mixture that lean! Most people I know run 75-80 although 50 shouldn't do it any harm except maybe a bit smoky and higher risk of oiled plugs. Silkolene Comp-2's fine. I also recommend Ipone semi which has a lovely strawberry smell (yes, really!) Edited October 23, 200421 yr by neonsurge
October 28, 200421 yr motul 600 is the best, i got reccomended of al the spanner gas gas team mechanic, i run mine, @ 70:1
November 4, 200421 yr Author Any Aircooled riders.... what do you run your mixture at? At 50;1 it seeems a tad smoky. hope its mixture an not a ring gone.......
November 5, 200421 yr well all a buggered ring will do is lose you power your engine is 2 stroke and that is why you use premic cause it lubes the bearings and ring unlike a 4 stroke where you have oil seperate in the engine
